Eugène speaks in great detail of his passion for hunting the “moose”, a huge deer, in the boreal forests of Quebec. A sequence shot of a wood, “humanized” for the walk, punctuates his talk. The camera’s eye studies the vegetation of the undergrowth as if seeking an exit. This film juxtaposes what is imagined to be the “original” wild forest and hunter-man with a parcelled, cultivated nature.
